3652 Gondola Load Question

I asked about the photo to see what lettering you had.

I have a   225E, and most of the original cars. I am trying to replace the box couplers as I find them....probably 50 years ago I put knuckles on them. I cannot recall what my Gondola looked like, as the paint was..gone. Repainted, then a fire, so it's quite weathered now. Tank car died, operating log car okay, PRR auto box okay, caboose okay. Had some other cars, cannot remember what came with the set.

225E was repainted into Northern Pacific oh, 30 years ago or so.Sitting in the engine shed off the roundhouse right now.

Thanks for the info. I don't have any prewar catalogs handy so I would of never known how many barrels to get. The one that I have is the 1940 version (red heat stamped lettering). I bought it to go with my 225e /2235w because a nice engine like that deserves more than the searchlight car and caboose I bought it with (plus two cars cars just looks plain stupid going around the tracks).  Right now I'm trying to track down more of the 1940 rubber stamped cars with intermediate couplers, but I wanted to know how many barrels to order to make it correct.

The Car, 3652, first cataloged in 1939.  Continued each year to 1942. Normally Yellow with a barrel load, also shown in the 1939 catalog in green but never made in that color (per TCA) .

The barrels, described in the 1940 catalog as "Tiny Barrels Tumble Out", are pictured as 8 to 10 barrels. The 1939 catalog states "Unloading bin and 12 barrels are included with each car".

The Barrels are wood, 7/8" long and 1/2" in diameter with rounder edges (looks more like a beer keg). At times, reproduction barrels can be found on E-Bay (lionel barrels)

I just bought a prewar 3652 operating gondola, and it took me a little while to figure out what it unloaded but I found it dumps barrels. My question is how many barrels came with it and what are they the same as (or are they special for this car)?
