Adding a river to my layout, Pic's
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, September 5, 2004 8:40 PM
Well i'm about 60 percent done now, and things are going nicely. I started by cutting out the shape, dropping it down to be the river bottom, then forming the banks.
Then i added plaster cloth and a finish coat of plaster. I used a retaining wall set that i carefully cut from behind with a razor saw. Just take your time and it cuts very very well.

Then it was a base coat of acrlic earth, and painted the abutments. Detail work is starting now.

All the while i was building the bridge, as you can see the bridge is pretty much finished, needs stain and a center support built next.

So this is where i am tonight, no not all things are perfectly prototype, but this was supposed to be fun so i addlibbed a bit. I will post more later as i fini***he scene. Enjoy. Bill

That looks very nice.

I need to get my hands dirty again one of these days soon. For me that means crossing the Mississippi. It isn't just going to be the river, but the bridge too. This is what mine is supposed to look like.[swg]
