Will an American Flyer 755 Talking Station operate on a three-rail Lionel layout? I can get the record to play all right, but I can't figure out how to wire the station and set up the insulated track section to make a train stop at the station and then restart after the record is done.

Yes the talking station will stop three rail trains. The talking station was made prior to WWII when American Flyer was still three rail. Your outside rails should be wired to the "U" terminal on Lionel Transformers (Base on Flyer Transformers.) the white wire from the talking station goes to the outside rails of a insulated section of track. Now you will have to insulate a section of track on both outside rails for this to work.
The green wire goes to a control box than is connected to the "U" Base post
The yellow wire goes to the fixed voltage post 15 to 18 volts.
The red and black wires are connected to the "U" base post
The white wire goes to the outside rail of an insulated track section that is long enough to hold the entire locomotive.
Thanks, Major. I'll give it a try.

I have my prewar talking station working well on a 3 rail Flyer layout.. However I did not use the outside rails. I used the inside rail and reversed the hookup.. Someone had previously rewired my station using incorrect color coding so I'm sorry I can't be more specific as to what colors where.. But White wire to insulated center section..

An American Flyer talking station on a Lionel Layout? I don't know, but I think after the first sounding of "All a-BOARD! A-meriCAN Fly-YER!" Joshua Lionel Cowen's ghost is going to show up one night and kick your butt!

Yes but on the other Hand, A.C. Gilbert and Smitty's ghosts would be there smiling at the thought of a Lionel guy coming over to "our side"...
Well said Gray Cat! Got a laugh out of me!
Yep, that was funny
