The RED has to much RED, or is just me? Maybe we can tone it down a bit.

The new heading on this forum are to bright for my eyes to view.

It's not just you.  I too find the red incredibly obnoxious.

I find this new format terrible.  This is not an improvement!

I stopped by and whoa..the page looks like an elementary school primer with fewer posts on the page and rather overblown font sizes to my tastes. Harder to find posts with fewer entries posted.  Well, it seems like tinkering for the sake of tinkering unless there was some compelling reason for this radical change.

Any change takes awhile to get used to.  I, personally, like the new format.

However, something is different from yesterday.  Yesterday there was a reply box at the bottom of the thread that I could immediately type a reply in.  Today, there is a reply button that took me to a different screen to post the reply.  Although it is no big deal, I liked the way replies were posted yesterday.

Additionally, I liked the way the reply was formatted better yesterday when I could control the amount of spacing between paragraphs breaks.  Today, the formatting reverted back to what it was on the old forum.  The formatting looks fine for normal paragraphs, but looks funny when I end the thread as shown below:

This is right up there for helpfulness with the "welcome to the forum" posts when a newbie asks a legitimate question.

Please describe the "ways around" that.

The red looks fine to me. Of course, I'm somewhat colorblind. Grays and certain shades of blue gime me the biggest problem.

this is my goto site when it comes to understanding html, but i usually just learn by example.  the answer was in my post; just view it as html code (the mini-icon in the upper right next to the life preserver thing when in a composition window).  look at my signature above, or...

check out the difference between this line.

and
these
lines.

Idea

Yeah, the Party Smiley Guy seems to be packing some baggage along with him. I just deleted the line of garbage and let's see what happens above.

EDIT: Well I clicked the Idea icon and the Party Smiley Guy and only the Idea Smiley came up. Another software bug!

Well, I,m ok with the red but, if I go to a thread with multiple pages I have no option but to start on the first page? Or maybe I haven't played with the new system yet.

Anyone?

Ok I see. Click on the "latest post" and it brings you to the top of the last page.

I'll agree with you, my first post was a question about a Lionel Crossing gate and the first "answer" I got was "welcome to the forum!" Um....OK...so are you going to tell me where wiring coming off the solenoid goes? Luckily someone else knew

I'll also agree that this new format is...well...downright annoying!

HI PENNY

I have been busy inasmuch as we began helping our daughter opening a horse farm. I fought off stage one bladder cancer successfully and haven't been motivated to respond to much here lately, let alone post a topic. I sort of lost interest in it but not with the layout or collecting as it's undergone yet another revision and I am rewiring the whole thing. I think I am somewhat of a misfit..lol. My latest prize is a 1936 dual Marx floodlight car..had to rewire it. I am starting to get my act together and will probably begin to post again. It's great to hear from you too.
