I have a mth o scale train, Iam having trouble with the smoke unit. after i put oil in it and then i wait for a few minutes for it to heat up, I can here the fan running and the smoke comes out in a stream and it comes out syn. with the chuff but not as strong and the solid streaming of smoke it did not do before. the chuff of smoke when it comes out it seems to be weak it did not do that before it always work great. i have a new wic inside plenty of smoke comes out but it more of a stream and like i said the syn. chuff of the smoke is weak on coming out. I have a dcs and i have tried putting it on min, med and max smoke and it still does the same but the amount of smoke coming out does change. need help....thanks.....

Welcome to the Forums.... Your topic may be better suited for the Classic Toy Trains forums as they cater to the larger scales but there are O scalers here as well they may see this.

The "puffs" of smoke are managed by the DCS board for PS2, perhaps something is damaged there and it's simply running the fan all the time.  When it's working properly, the fan starts and stops to create the puffs of smoke.  Top suspect would be a blown output that is putting voltage on the fan all the time.
