Favorite 6454 Boxcars
Posted by traindaddy1 on Saturday, August 4, 2012 9:19 PM

Since "Lehigh Valley 2089" asked about your favorite 6464 boxcars, allow  me to ask:

What is your favorite 6454 boxcar?

Why, you ask?    Because I'm a fan of these smaller postwar traditional cars.

As always, many thanks..

The ATSF car, without a doubt.

The Lehigh Valley Railroad, the Route of the Black Diamond Express, John Wilkes and Maple Leaf.

-Jake, modeling the Barclay, Towanda & Susquehanna.

I don't have a single 6454 in my collection. I'll have to remedy that soon Smile But I think this 3474 is close enough:

I like them all, but my favs are the PRR,NYC(both colors) and the Erie, which I need to get. great detail, size, and they feel right when you hold one.

I have a few of them, I like them all.  They seem to match up better with the smaller steamers, like the prairiies. The Pennsylvania is as nice as any in Tuscan,

On the same subject i am now in the market for some of the smaller tenders, like the 1130t.  These seem to fit the size of the 2026 better. 2466 whistle tender is nice, but it looks to big behind my 2035 and 2026
