I finally bought a Marx 10005 (it's been on my want list for about 15 years or so). I've got a silver and red one, and it's an engine, 3 cars, and an observation. The three cars are all Omaha, and the observation is a Squaw Bonnet.
My Marx layout is so small I'll likely just run the engine, one car and the observation. But are there other cars available? A quick search on Google didn't turn up anything, but it's hard to search for what you don't know (Confucius?)
Thanks in advance,
J White
Sounds like a nice set. The best ones I know to answer your question is sir James or wallyworld wally world doesn't frequent the site as much as he use to. But he was basically all Marx and has a large collection from pics I have seen.

I also have a couple of those sets, the red and silver and the green and yellow. I haven't found any cars with names different then what I have and I've been thinking that dry transfers could change that.
the M10005 was available in three basic liveries and there were REA/RPO cars, Los Angeles, Denver & Omaha coaches as well as the Squaw Bonnet which was the only observation available in all three. the yellow/brown livery also had a rarely seen "Diner", but this car has never shown up in either of the other two paint schemes.
there is a slight variation in the silver/red/blue livery coaches. i keep forgetting which, but i believe the earlier cars had blue litho only ringing the window frames whereas in the later version the separating window stiles are also blue.
Thank you for the information. And thank you for pointing out that there was litho on the silver cars. I am fairly sure I wouldn't have noticed a difference until after I bought the wrong one and coupled it up.
