Looks like two of the sets on that page were made by Marx. #9816 the six unit set with the log dump car and #9815 the five unit set for $9.99. I couldn't help noticing the battery operated set appears to be HO.

 Did you see the description in the set in lower left corner? Slope (slant) back tender....and it  isn't!

the wishbookweb.com site is a great reference for uncataloged sets...

the downside of store catalogs is that they seldom indicate the manufacturer's set number, but rather the stock number of the store itself.  these Sears sets (Christmas 1966) look close.

I live in the Milwaukee area and this set, as much of what I know, came from the Milwaukee area and one of the retail chains back them. Maybe a Gimbles, Schusters, Sears........

Nothing stands out from this set. Basic 1062T slope back tender and just the usual 6167 red Lionel Lines caboose.

I know Lionel made a lot of these inexpensive scout sets, threw them together in a box set and shipped them out to retailers. Most individual retailers had specific sets made with different set numbers from those shown in the Lionel catalog.

Interesting, what is the marking on the Tender and Caboose?  Is a shipping address on the set box?

 242-1062T Locomotive and slope back Tender along with the 6176 Hopper and 6142 Gondola were cataloged in1966,  Catalog sets started with 11 (not 19) and set 11520 looks like what you have BUT it has a 4th car, they added the operating 3364 Log Car AND the Caboose number does not line up. The 1969 Catalog shows the Caboose number on a Yellow Union Pacific.

Most special sets had advertising someplace.

I am wondering what retail store this set was made for.....

Just bought a near mint postwar Lionel train set with original box.

It is a cheaper one that looks to have been sold / made in 1966 according to the instruction sheet.

On the box it says NO.19555.

Comes with a 1062 engine and tender, 6076 hopper, 6142 gondola and a 6167 caboose. A 1025 transformer, 90 degree crossing and enough track to make a figure 8.

I know its not a highly collectable set, but looks to have never been run and came with the original box.

So why not!

I looked through my Greenbergs uncatalogued sets book and nothing is listed.

Just doing a little investigating regarding this set.
