Have u heard of having problems with the switches? I have been doing some reading and have heard that after awhile the return springs get weak in the switches. I can probaly look up any track system Scale Trax Real Trax Fastrack, Atlas...etc...and find problems with them all. Price wise I think MTH Scale Trax is about the cheapest, accept for tublar. Plus I have alot of fastrack stuff I am trading in on Scale Trax. I think the obvious answer is its a roll of the dice no matter what track system I decide to use. I dont know. But thanks for all the info everyone!
--Black Diamond-- One thing about a train, it doesnt matter where it's going, You just have to decide to get on... Woo Wooo.....
I have tried MTH ScaleTrax and I found it somewhat difficult to connect. But I have seen layouts that have used ScaleTrax and ir probably is the most scale like 3 rail track available.

I have used and sold many types of track. For ease of use Fastrack is great. I use it for a lot of temporary layouts. Tubular will be around forever and I like it, but can be hard to use.
I have had issues with RealTrax, mostly connectivity issues and the ability to stay "put together". I have heard about issues with ScaleTrax and connectivity problems as well.
I am MOST impressed with Atlas. It looks good, ballasts well and price is reasonable. I will be building my next permanent layout with Atlas track. That said, I have a lot invested in FasTrack.
Just my 2 cents worth....

I don't have personal expertience, but one issue i've seen discussed is problems with conectivity between track sections. One of my LHS has a display layout made with several different track systems, including scale trax. What I saw was those scale trax sections being heavily soldered together, especially along the middle rail.

Does anyone know anything about MTH Scale Trax? I am planning on using this on my layout, its alot cheaper then Fast Track. If there is a review on it possibly that would help or if someone has used or is using this track could possibly throw me some pointers?
