Hi, I am finishing the restoration of my 1949 lionel #671 Turbine
I ordered a rubber stamp for the numbers but it does not match the typestyle of any of the photos I have found online.
Does anyone have an all original paint 1949 #671 they could photograph the cab numbers on?
Also if not too much trouble holding a ruler by the numbers for scale & posting good clear photos of just the numbers would be a big help to me. If you cant post them I can send my email address.
I want to make it as close to original as possible
Thanks - Jason

I don't have a camera; but I measure the height of the "6" to be .165 inch. The font agrees completely with this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-671-S-2-Turbo-Locomotive-Engine-for-restoration-or-parts-/230820846259?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item35bdfe9ab3 which is surely not a repaint.

Thanks for the link that will help with my numbers, I work at a sign shop and i plan on making a removable stencil decal, that way I can airbrush on the silver numbers, Most of the engines I have seen redone with rubber stamps look to be hit or miss as far as looking correct. most look blured or blotchy. I figure I'll give a stencil a shot.

I have rubber stamps for a 681 and penn tender. Never used them because I could not get it right. I use J&A rub on numbers now.
