Brushes

I need two brushes for a Lionel 218 part # 622-121 they cost like .60 each and I hate to pay $6.00 in shipping when these will fit in a mailing envelop. Do any of you know where I can get two without the out of range shipping cost? My nearest LHS is 43 miles away.

if using the engine is urgent, you could do what i do, and wait until you get a long enough list of parts to make the shipping worth it. also, you could try calling the dealer you buy parts and ask them if they could just stick the brushes in a regular envelope and send them, I'm sure they would do it.

You may also wish to consider purchasing several pairs.
I have always liked to keep a few extra inexpensive, consumable, commonly needed parts on hand.

I have taken some from a bad truck motor and it is running fine now. I will add them to my needs list and get them when it gets to the point where i can get them.

Try calling charlie Schmitt. He will drop them in a small shipping evelope for postage. Charlie is great to deal with. You can Google Charlie Schmitt train parts to get the number. As was mentioned, always buy spares.
