fastrak section/blocking counts
Posted by chad tm5000/trainstation on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 9:44 AM
hi everyone im not new with fastrak but im dumb founded... i bought these sections of fastak that are 1 inch and they have a slice in the middle of them. i see there is wire under them and i was told they go with switch track. my question is can they be block sections or did i waste money on them. i have 1 block section and was wondering if i can use these small ones for my layout. thanks chad at the trainstation lab/home

Yes they can be used as block sections, just take the jumper wire off.

Can't stop working on the railroad!

I have a bunch of these.  I installed a switch in a couple of them with an LED and I use them to power sidings on a carpet layout.  I put the side powering the LED to the siding, that way I have visual indication if the siding is powered.  The switch is on the left, and you can see the 2mm yellow LED on the right.
