Here's the link to the Marx board on Yahoo:

You'll get a quick reply. Not sure what the 556 caboose and gondola is doing with this set . Someone on the Marx board should be able to answer.

Well, you seem to have two Marx train sets here. The engine, black New York Central car (called a tender, hauls fuel for the engine), Rock Island gondola car and 556 caboose are one set and all the military stuff is another set. As for values, here it goes:

1st Set:
Engine (Commodore Vanderbilt type): $30
NYC tender: $8
RI gondola car: $10
NYC caboose: $10

The above is an extremely common Marx set that you find quite often. The army train is an entirely different matter. Marx made a large variety of military trains during the early years of WWII. These are all in very high demand from collectors. The values on the cars you have are as follows:
Army Supply Train tender: $40
Searchlight Car: $30-$60 (it depends on the condition, which is hard to tell because there is no close-up picture of it.)
Field Gun car (the one with the larger gun with yellow details): $60-$100 (condition hard to tell due to dust in picture.)
Cannon car: In poor shape, so I'd estimate maybe $50, possibly more
Radio Car: $50-$75
It's too bad you don't have the engine. As you can see, the army train is worth much more than the other one. The box is super rare and will raise the value considerably, perhaps even double it if you're lucky. Also, these trains are O gauge and the cars are all of the Marx 6-inch type. I hope this helps you out.
