Recording remote camer picks of train layout
Posted by LawsonFarmsRR on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 10:05 AM

I have a wireless remote camera for my train layout. How do I record the pictures, not just show them on a TV or monitor? Thanks.

You need a video capture device, here's a PC-Mag Article on them.

A few years back I did a review of a K-Line camera car that had a transmitter and a receiver. I plugged the receiver into a VCR and it recorded the signals. I suppose the tech has jumped a generation, but you should be able to get a wireless receiver with the right connection for your VCR or DVD-R.

Well, getting it to a VCR doesn't get it in a digital form for upload to places like YouTube, which I suspect is the object of the exercise.

Thank for the information. I will give them both a try.
