Lionel Icing Station

This is a great accessory. Easy to set up and easy to use.

I bought the Santa Claus version with Frosty boxcar back in 1999 while I was stationed in Japan. I never used it until yesterday and it worked flawlessly. I got it out to test it for the Christams layout I am planning for the kids and they loved it. My kids are 6, 4.5, and 3 and they were all able to operate it easily.

After loading 5 ice cubes in the delivery tray, with a press of the button, Santa Claus in his little red suit pushes the ice cubes into the roof of a waiting refrigerator car. After pushing in 5 ice cubes you can empty the car and do it again. My three kids took turns operating it and it kept them entertianed for 45 minutes. Every once in a while one of the ice cubes misses the roof hatch and ends up under the icing station, but it is easy to retrieve.

Set up is simple. The station has two bars that flip out of the bottom which slide under your track to hold the unit in the proper position. Wiring is a snap. It has two terminal clips and comes with a push button. Simply attach one wire from your transformer to a terminal clip and the other to the pushbutton. Then take another wire and connect it from the pushbutton to the other terminal clip. You are done.

If you are looking for a neat accessory for the kids, this is a good one to get.

Hi Joe,

It sounds like you are going to have a great time this Christmas with your kids. It’s great to here that they like your hobby and that you have the time to spend with them. That is what this hobby and Christmas is all about.
