Lionel Ducking Animal Cars with RealTrax Question
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, August 26, 2004 2:55 PM
If anyone is using their Lionel Ducking Animal cars with RealTrax, I'd be interested in how you modified the telltales to work with Realtrax.

I realize you can use the MTH adaptor track and insert tubular track in between, but I am looking to avoid that if at all possible.

I think someone asked this question a while back, and the concensus was that you'll need to carve away part of the roadbed, if you don't want to use the adapter tracks.

Big Boy,

Thanks for the reply. I'll do a search.

Still, if anyone has ACTUALLY done this, I'd be interested to know your results, methods, photos, etc.

Thanks.

They may have been asking about doing it on FasTrack not Realtrax. The idea is the same, but the Realtrax is better because the rail has a base that the clip can grab on to. Rigging up a track for a brakeman car would be an even bigger pain. Good luck.

Big Boy is correct. I asked about it 5-6 months back. I have not done it yet, but from the ideas that were discussed, I would start with a piece of straight RealTrax, a piece of fairly thick plastic, a Dremel tool and some super glue and go at it.

The overhead can sit on the other side of the track from the mechanical slide.

Any new ideas still appreciated.

It makes me feel good to know that my memory isn't totally gone. I had certainly forgotten that it was you that asked Buck. Sorry. [swg]
