decaling Texas Special 210 or 211 engine
Posted by cbtrainnut on Sunday, May 6, 2012 8:40 AM

Hi,

Hope I can get an answer from someone here on this forum. I have a 1055 Texas Special Red engine with the white letters. When I ordered the decal set for this engine from a reputable dealer advertising in the back of CTT, no names mentioned, I was sent the parts hopefully for the 1055, but the decal set for the 210 and 211 Alco A units.

I have decided to use this set anyway since the dealer never replied to any of my emails. I had made measurements on my 1055 as to where the location of the lettering went. Including the 1055 and built by lionel. My problem is the decal set comes in 6 different pieces for each side.just for the stripe.has the built buy lionel but much larger than on my 1055. Has the star for the front which I hope is correct size but no number at all. Paid 7.95 plus 10.00 shipping.for this .  Now here is my question. Can anyone please give me the dimensions of the height of the stripe from the bottom of the shell please.

If I use the decal as is , it will be much higher for the placement on the Texas Special Lettering.. Looking at the Lionel Guide I picked up at the local library here in Mason Ohio, This is not consistent with the pics in the guide. Needless to say I am frustrated.

This is the Only Lionel Set I have, As I am an American Flyer guy. But its my first train set and I want to at least make it look good.  My email is Chrisandmhelburger@yahoo.com if anyone is ably to help. Thanks so much, Chris
