Milk Car platform parts
Posted by RRaddict on Monday, March 19, 2012 11:54 AM

Does anyone here know if you can buy separate parts for the milk car platform because I need a new set of stairs. I looked on Lioels website but I couldn't even find a complete platform. If anyone has a good source for these parts it would be greatly appreciated.

East Coast Train Parts, Englishtown, N.J. has exact repro steps for sale at $4.49 a pair.  They list they have 97 sets available.  You can search them either on Ebay or just type East Coast Train Parts into your search engine and you can get directly to their site.  Part number is 3462P-8 for the steps.

Good luck,

Just got a postwar celebration Bosco milk car on ebay and noticed that the platform is set for 027 so I need to remove and put in O gauge slots. Fortunately the tabs are not bent; any suggestions for best way to remove? I havent really studied it so dont know if I simply need to tap on the tabs to remove or need some other preparation.

You just spring the front posts out a bit and slide the platform out.  It shouldn't be an issue.
