Just a thank you
Posted by Eriediamond on Sunday, March 18, 2012 9:38 AM

I'm just a kid over 70 and just want to thank all for the wonderful posts here. A special thanks for those that post pictures of their layouts. I'm an "armchair" modeler at the present and you all bring back happy memories of my youth when just about every young boy wanted an electric train under the tree. I have a room where I hope to someday have an 8X12 layout of the older stuff from back in the 40's-50's so thanks for your time and efforts to post here.

"'I'm just a kid over 70"?  My sentiments exactly.  I am a 68 year old kid.  I thought I would feel old by now, but I don't feel old at all.  I feel like a teenager in an old body and in the prime of my life.

Don't put off starting your layout.  There is no better time then today.

I wish you all the best.

I agree with EIS2. I am a kid of 64 years of age, with a 20 year old inside wondering what happened!

Got to agree with Earl.  Time to slap 3 4x8's together and tack down some track.  Remember: the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step to the lumber store.

Maybe you could get started with one 4x8 and two loops of 027 track. Very simple to construct. You could be up and running in one day. If you want to expand or start over again later you could do that fairly easily.
