I was downtown the other day when I heard the sound of an unfamiliar train whistle coming into town from the south.  I headed over to the station with my trusty Kodak Brownie and caught these photos of a brand new 3200 series steamer.  She was fresh out of the shops on Halsted street in Chicago and her first run was to bring a special passenger train filled with dignitaries from Illinois up to Star Lake to go ice fishing.  She is a real beauty and it was nice to see her servicing the Blueboard Central Division of American Flyer Lines.

Recent work in the Mt. Graham Boiler Shop:

The 1664 on the test track

The trackside maintenance  crew has it's work cut out for it on the 140 Bango Signal and 151 Semaphore, but they are still waiting on parts.

So that's what side rods and valve linkage look like...

Great stuff guys as always, Chuck I love your pictures and the cars, takes me back to the day. So glad your back into the train room!

I held back this week because I can’t compete and I did not have a chance to pull out some of the other things we have. Love it,

Bill.........can you give us some information on what looks to me like an Alco FA in the second photo, with the Seattle and Yakima colors and lettering?  I don't think I have ever seen one of those.

Jack, that is a K-Line dual motored Alco that came out of my paint shop, use to be a NYC. I also have about 20 pieces of rolling stock in the Seattle & Yakima RR cream & orange.

Nice paint job and lettering.  Looks sharp.  Must have taken a bit of time.
