Anyone ran into a fast track switch that won't close back to straight the whole way. If I remove the light and housing it works. But if can't see any binding or reason for it to hold up .
thanks
Scott
The cam for the limit switch is the culprit - these are starting to wear out now. It is happening more & more and will continue as everyone's equipment ages.
If you can build up the cam slightly with tape or film, you can effect a semi-permanent repair.

This may sound like a dumb question but, can the cam be replaced?
George
Here you go, you can order the parts from Lionel. Fastrack O-36 Switch Diagram & Parts
Which part would you order? I don't see anything listed as a cam and my guess would be part #45.
I'm not sure what part he thinks is wearing, I don't have any problem switches to look at.
It's the #45 Part # 6102045102 SEGMENT GEAR. It wears to the point it is not making proper contact with the cherry switches. There is little or no adjustment available at the cherry switches.
Should be easy to build up the worn part with something like JB Weld, then file it into shape.
I HAVE A PROBLEM WIRING my fastrack switches ( instructions say use track jumper or Connect red to AUX Power and black to AUX ground ) Neither works on both new switches..................
