I saw the thread, seems like those smoke units should be readily available.

Thanks John,

I got a hook up over on the OGR Forum for the unit. I will check the resistor later tonight.

 Tks,

Did you try one of the many parts vendors?  You can check the smoke resistor with an ohmmeter, it should probably be in the 20-40 ohm range.

UNION PACIFIC E/V CABOOSE W/SMOKE ???

I have a 6-19706 UNION PACIFIC E/V CABOOSE W/SMOKE. But mine does not have smoke anymore and guess what Lionel does not have the replacement smoke unit listed for it anymore. #6102722050 SMK UNIT/SEUTH 12 VOLT

Unavailable.

Go figure.

Any ideas or suggestions on what I could use in it for a replacement smoke unit? Also how can I test the resistor to see if it is working?

Thanks,

Kev.
