MTH K-4 Torpedo Sound Problem

Howdy all:

I have a question and would love some help.  I recently purchased an MTH PRR K-4 Torpedo with PS1. Everything seems to work fine, except when I follow the instructions for activating brake sounds and station sounds, it activates the brake sounds and they stay on constantly.  I'm running a Lionel CW80 transformer on Fastrack.  Since I've got a separate bell button, I hold the bell button down for 3 or more seconds.  On all of my other MTH PS1 engines, this activates the brake sounds and station sounds with no problem.  Sometimes the bell stays on if I hold the button too long, but if I depress it again quickly, the bell will stop sounding, and I can use the brake sounds and station sounds with no problem.  My K-4 functions pretty much the same way -- I hold the bell button down for three seconds, and stations sounds works as it should in every respect.  The only issue is that once I've activated it, whenever the locomotive is moving, the brake sounds are constantly on.

Any advice on what I might be doing wrong, or things I should try?

Have you tried using a differant transformer? Try a KW or ZW by Lionel or the Z-1000 by MTH. Sometimes an MTH engine won't do well with the CW-80.
