As a shelf display, I have both the Williams/Bachmann Berkshire and the "J" in New Haven paint. The casting job is beautiful! I do not run them.
Both locomotives use the same frame, running gear, motor, and trailing truck. The boiler casting and pilot truck as well as the tenders are different. The "J" has "spoked" drivers and the Berkshire has "Baldwin Disk" of the same diameter. The mechanical design being the same, both should run the same.

Hey All,
Does anybody know where to find video of the Williams by Bachmann J class steam engines in action. I've been on YouTube and have found nothing ; but an E7, Berkshire on there. I am considering getting one and would like to see how it runs. Although i have heard nothing but good things just curious that's all. Anyone own one of their own that could post a video. I would greatly appreciate any help with this situation. Thanks all!!
