Hi, I recently purchased a K-Line Silver Chief set, missing the original transformer. It came with Super Snap track which has a terminal section equipped with banana plug wire connnectors. I have not seen a K-Line transformer that accepts banana plugs connections except for the 954C. Can anyone tell me if this is the transformer that originally came with the set? Also, the set box shows a horn controller, but the 954C has a whistle button with a switch for "other", shouldn't that control a horn as well? I am looking to replace the original transformer and any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Paul

Thanks, I've since learned that the banana plug connectors plugged into a horn controller (K-952) and not directly to the transformer, which I believe was the K-950B, rated at 30 watts with no horn control button.
As far as I know, the horn/whistle button on any AC transformer should activate the horn in the K-Line Alco, it's just that I wanted the convenience of using the original wires which have banana plug connectors at both ends. It does seem that at least one K-Line transformer, the 954, could accept banana plugs directly and was rated at 110 watts, so that's the one I'm looking for.
Too bad that information on older K-Line production seems hard to come by now, since they made some interesting products.
In it's later years K-Line put it's larger "Power Chief" transformer, and Super Snap track in it's starter sets, as a way to offer more value than brand "L", or "M" (to use their words). This transformer listed at 110 watts (#954) is shown below, and yes it takes banana plugs.
I'm sure some re-sellers today remove this power supply.

The pictured PowerChief 120V & (not pictured)PowerChief 120F were both rated at 120 watts(7 amps).
The K-954(rated at 110VA) was an update to the K-951(rated at 40VA) and included banana jacks instead of spring clips.
