Are all MTH and Lionel can motors DC, I have a Lionel electronic reverse board I want to put in an MTH steamer that doesn't have an e-unit.
Thanks,
Kevin
Can't stop working on the railroad!
If it's a can motor: it's DC. The e-unit has a rectifier in it to convert the AC to DC.

Thanks it worked great Lionel E unit is now in an MTH and works flawlessly.
I don't think MTH, Atlas, Williams, etc. ever had AC motors, just folks like Lionel, AF, and Ives. By the time MTH and Williams started making trains, DC motors were all the rage.
