Anyone care to cite the prototype?
I have figured out what is wrong with my brain! On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
Interesting locomotive! Now, it isn't $780 worth of interesting to me, but quite a beast, nonetheless. UP had the 9000 4-12-2's, so this 4-12-6 is in the ballpark of feasible. Note that only the 2nd and 5th driver wheelsets have flanges, so it won't bind up on sharp curves. Whoever built it did a nice job!

It is two Flyer Hudsons spliced together and it appears to be a 4 12 4 not 4 12 6. The rear trailing truck looks like the standard 4 wheel Flyer trailing truck used on Northerns and Hudsons. Two regular Hudsons of this vintage would be worth less than the asking price of this beast. Not worth the money considering I pick up two new S Scale Challengers, each for only $107.00 more than the asking price of this kit bashed locomotive.

Certainly would be a conversation piece.

Correct, except that if you look at the picture of the underside of the locomotive you will see that Dr. Frankenstein has actually gone to the trouble to add a third axle set to the trailing truck, so it really is a 4-12-6.
