The whistle no longer works.  I looked on the underside and saw there are two black wires hanging loose.  Are they supposed to be attached to something, and if so how?  And could the hanging wires be the reason the whistle no longer works?

There should be a wire going to each roller, and up to the motor. Olsens has the diagram. That IS why your whistle doesn't work.
