Has anyone out there connected lionel fastrack directly to the Atlas O turntable? If so, how?
Pics would great.
The Glancy Trains modular group has one on our fastrack layout. I personally don't have any pictures of it, but maybe you could find some on our website.

Coal Cracker,
You may want to check out the FasTrack group in Yahoo Groups. The group has many members who have been using FasTrack for years. I have had many questions answered there and I even asked one about Atlas turntables a while back. Here is my question and two answers I received:
“Does anyone have an Atlas O turntable on their FasTrack layout? I am considering buying one but I would like to know how they work together. I understand there may be rail height issues.”“I picked up the Atlas 24" turn table at a local train show a year or two ago. I've used it on a few of my layouts since. I've only been into model RR's for six years and I had no trouble adapting the Atlas turn table to my FasTrack. I cut a few short pieces of track to match the opening in the table and added thin shims to level the track height. In my opinion it was a good choice and an interesting attachment on my layout. Well worth what I paid for it.”
“Yes I do I had to make so cuts to the track so that it would fit and work.”
You could probably find more specific answers by searching their group or even this forum as well.
Also, it’s nice to see another coal cracker on the forum. I am originally from Shenandoah, PA.
Joe
Sorry I couldn't get back on the forum for a couple days. My thanks to you & SantaFe158 for the info. I guess it's time to start cutting some fastrack. Are you/were you military stationed in Japan? Thats great that you are from Shenandoah, indeed a true coal cracker. I'm originally from Hazleton myself.
No worries Coalcracker,
Yes, I am in the Air Force and currently stationed in Japan. Hazelton is like a big city compared to Shenandoah. If I ever decide to scratch build any coal facilities, Shenandoah has/had many prototypes to model.
If you haven't done so, use the search function for the CTT forum as well. You may find out your question was asked in the past and be able to find out more information. This forum and the Yahoo group both have had threads about cutting FasTrack which might be helpful. I haven't had to do that yet but I know others have.
Please share photos as you progress.
Joe, first off THANKS for your service! The closest I got to the USAF was six years in the civil air patrol.
Are you able to still persue model railroading, train shows, etc. while in the service?
Very true, Hazleton too was surrounded by some huge coal breakers that would serve as neat prototypes for structures. Unfortunately most have been dismantled over the years.
Regards,
Coalcracker
