mine was running at about 8 volts using dcs
I can't speak for all the motorized units, but my #41 Army switcher and #53 D&RG snow plow both ran much, much quieter when I lubed their hard-to-reach lower motor bearings. It's a lubrication point that's often overlooked.
Bill and DougM,
Akin to my #41 but I checked my brushes when I installed LED headlights and the lower gears for lube and everything looks good so I figure that is just the way they all sound.
Bigdogjeff, how many volts are you running into yours in the video? It seems to be going faster than mine at a max of 15 volts

Me too, Bill. Mine sounds like a coffee grinder, and it sparks up a storm.

Your Army vulcan switcher runs pretty good, a lot better than my 59 Minuteman vulcan switcher. I probably need to replace the brushes on the 59.
