I bought this set from the original owner and says he can remember playing with this set a few times around Christmas. He was only 4 or 5 at the time and does not remember what all came with the set.The set is not listed in Greenbergs "un-cataloged set" book, put someone else sent me some info on the set from "The Lion Roars" where the set was briefly mentioned. It was put together for the 1959 Christmas season and sold through department stores. This particular set was bought at Boston Store here in Milwaukee for $34.95. Everything in this set is in like new condition.
Here is a picture of the set with everything I received from the owner:
[View:http://cs.trains.com/TRCCS/themes/trc/utility/:550:0]
It comes with:
2037 Steam locomotive
6026w tender
6476 hopper
6112-85 "cannister" car (gondola)
6014 Bosco boxcar
6017 caboose
When I bought this set, it also had a pair of Sakai Japanese made switches and a 90 crossing. I know the switches didn't originally come with it. But did the 90 degree crossing?
My question is how much track and how many straights and curves came with the set.came with this set?
Doyles would not list this set.
The boxed crossing almost certainly would not be included. Eight curves, 3 straights, and the camtrol straight section would be the original set makeup. Project Roar might be able to give you more info.
