What are the yellow stars for next to some posts on the forum? What do they represent? Tks, Kev.

Yeah - I have wondered that also. I don't see a legend to explain the symbols.
Popularity of a thread. How hot a topic it is.

Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!
It's a popularity rating device. Look at the top right of the thread. You'll see a line of stars there. Mouse over the stars and they'll turn yellow as you go to the right. If you think the thread deserves three stars from you click on the third star, etc.

I didn't realize that. I'm glad this question was asked- not silly at all.
The only silly question is the one that isn't asked.
Thanks Becky and Jeff, I had no idea.
Just a side note to the ratings using the stars. Most ignor them, some actually will rate a thread low because they have a dislike for the author of the thread. Childish I know, but they don't limit posters or raters by their maturity.

gunrunnerjohn One has to wonder why you'd bother? What would be the point? I never look at the ratings anyway, Prefer to judge on the content, not other people's opinion of the content.

I think I am with you John, "why you'd bother". I wonder if my question was worth posting now that I know how it works. I have noticed more ratings on posts since I asked. Who let the dogs out!!!
Sorry.
Kev - For what it's worth, I voted 5 stars on the thread!

Agree. I don't pay attention either. For those I mentioned, "Stupid is as stupid does." [Forest Gump]
