Hi Ken, welcome to the forum.
Sounds like the electronic reverse unit may have called it quits. As suggested if under warranty a call to the Lionel Service Center may be required.

I had exactly the same problem with my P.E. loco early on. I don't mind looking under the hood, and when I did it turned out to be a loose connector to an internal circuit board, and the loco's been fine ever since I reseated it. I figure your P.E. may still be in warranty, so if you are the slightest bit uncomfortable about working on it yourself I suggest you take it to a Lionel authorized service center and let them give it a look.

Hi All -
Looking for some help here. I have the standard polar express train from Lionel. The train was running great for a couple of days but now will not run, but has power to all coaches. I have tried and verified that the directional setting is correct. Any other ideas? I feel like the train is in nuetral but I don't know how to fix.
I really appreciate any help!
Thanks,
Ken
