Lional 1044 Transformer

I need to know if anybody can help me with my 1044 transformer. I have been having problems with it and upon opening it and looking I found the cloth wound resistor on the whistle circuit has broken in half. I would like to know if anybody knows what value it is so I can get a modern replacement.

I don't find a resistance value on the parts list.  But the schematic diagram for the VW and ZW show it as 1.5 ohms.  Since the function is the same in all transformers, that is probably close for the 1044.  I would go with a 10-watt power rating.

Bob has made a very good guess. Thumbs Up  The measured resistance for the 1033 stock resistor is 1.5 ohms, so with the 1044 being just a repackaged 1033, I'll bet it has the same value.
