Can photos be psoted directly form my computer?
Posted by runtime on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 9:11 PM

I'd rea;lly like to share some photos (videos too) of my Holiday layout, but it;s such a pain to have to  relearn how to first upload them to my Photobucket account, then to the forum. Is there an alternative?

I don't believe so, I use both Photobucket and Shutterfly, same transfer process for both. It is a pain using the middleman.

As Bill mentioned, you need a third party server such as Photobucket to house your photos.

This set of forums will not accept photos stored on a home computer.

Simple answer: No.

You need a hosting site. Photobucket is very easy to use and you should have no problem relearning how to use it.Smile

I also use Photobucket.  Once you get pictures uploaded, you just hover the mouse over the picture and the link choices come up.  Pick the IMG code at the bottom of the list.  Just paste that here with a Ctrl-C and your image will show up.

For example:

No, that is Lionel. Flyer modelled the Alco PA-1 which has a more squareish nose on it. The one in the pcture is a GM F-3, which Lionel modeeled and sold a lot of.

Oops, I didn't look close enough, and I missed that dreaded thrid rail.  Trade it in for an American Flyer.

LOL

runtime,

Be sure to post those photos on the Classic Toy Trains forum.

They will love them.

All of the Lionel and American Flyer and Marx stuff is all featured over there.

I thought this IS the Toy Train Forum.

You can be excused for missing the third rail because I'm using Lionel Super O, which has a thin copper center rail, on the around the tree loop. Big Smile

OMG, was I drinking Christmas egg nog too early?

Was this thread on the CTT forum all along?   LOL

I was so excited thinking that I was looking at an American Flyer that I may have lost all focus.

Merry Christmas.

I use Photobucket and Flickr as a photo host site. Flickr is directly connected to iPhoto on my Mac. I think they are equally easy/difficult. It's amazing that in the digital age, we see something that requires 5 clicks of a mouse as "hard." Laugh

I notice that Flickr frequently has big delays in posting and viewing pictures, so I stick with Photobucket, I've had fewer issues with their site.
