Decal Removal from SF F3's
Posted by cbtrainman on Thursday, December 15, 2011 4:50 PM

Hello Folks,

I have acquired a nice pair of SF 2383 F3s; however,  a previous owner placed several decals on the units.  Any suggestions on removing the decals without harming the great paint job?  Thanks!

If whomever applied the decals and did not use clear coat or dull coat over them I would start with some warm water and a dash of dove detergent and apply mixture with a very soft tooth brush. Hopefully after a couple applications the old decals will break-up and lift off.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your tip; I had time yesterday to work on the F3's, and was successful; soft brush, gentle fingernail, and soapy water....looks good.  Thanks for taking time to respond.  Dave
