Trouble American Flyer remote switches
Posted by Flyer315 on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 7:15 PM

I am having a problem withbthe operation of two AF remote switches.  The are set up to create a parallel track to the main line.  The problem I have is that if I turn both the entry and exit switch to the parallel line the engine on the parallel line stops.  As long as only one switch is turned to the parallel line it works fine and it makes no difference which switch it is. The current isn't reversing on itself as far as I know.  I have tried changing both switches from 2 train to normal operation and it makes no difference. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Where do you have the connection between the track and the transformer?  If it is between the switch ends that contain the diverging route when both switches are thrown to the parallel track you end up with no power  going to the rest of the track. Just add another track connector to the transformer or relocate the track connector on the other side of the switch.

There may be a problem with connectivity in the slide swithc for two train ? regular operation located on the Switch (turnout)
