I quess I shouldn't say anything about the train show.

Not at all! You opened a dialog, and shared a thought / information  which is always good.

If you live in the Capital District, the Springfield show is about a ninty minute drive.  The show is well worth the trip. If possible, plan on arriving early on Saturday morning because as the day wears on, the halls fill with people.

Here is the show web site: http://www.railroadhobbyshow.com/

You may also be interested to know that Mohawk Valley Railroad is scheduled to reopen shortly.

I have no affiliation with the Albany show, Springfield show, or Mohawk Valley Railroad.

I quess I shouldn't say anything about the train show.   It was in my opinion crowded and I can't tell you what I looked at, but it represents an interest in trains, and the more people, as was said the more trains to ....    If anything it was a good day for a ride and I think in many ways it represents a change in the train hobby that  I miss.   Years ago we had two maybe three stores in our community where you could go and purchase trains year round, and could participate in the hobby easily.   Today there are still hobby shops, etc, but if you are looking for something to match what you have, you are going to train shows, and other places.   Anyhow I hope that anyone who went enjoyed their day.

I was there with my organization. I heard that again the train show bested the previous year's attendance records. True, it is a packed house but I am sure we can all think of train shows we have attended that were near empty with few vendors and only one train layout display. More people = more vendors = more stuff to buy!

While the Albany show was well attended, I didn't think it was overly congested.  IMHO,  the congestion was nothing comparied to the Springfield show.. Have you attended that show?

I attended the Albany NY trainshow yesterday.   It was the first for me, and my uncle, but we were a little disappointed.   We kept bumping into people.   They had a nice lionel layout and others too, but it was hard to see stuff as you kept bumping.    Has it always been like that?
