Something to do this month in the Detroit area

I know I've mentioned the layout I'm going to be setting up at the Redford Theatre next weekend a few times here before.

For those that don't know, the theater was built back in 1928 and is fully restored to it's original condition. They show older movies there every weekend (Friday nights, Saturday afternoon and evening, this weekend is Miracle on 34th Street) to support the upkeep of the building and the Theater organ it houses.

Anyway, I'll be setting up a 12x8 Christmas layout in the orchestra pit on Sunday and it will be there until probably the 2nd weekend in January. If anybody's interested in a family movie night, come and check the theater (and the trains) out.

Admission is cheap (about $4-5 for the normal movies, a little more if it's a silent movie with the organist) and so are concessions. You can get food and your movie ticket for less than the food at a chain theater would cost you for a family.

I'm not sure which weekends I'll be there running the trains, but they'll be running whether I'm there or not. There are two tracks and around 20 structures. Thomas the Tank Engine will be making an appearance on one of the tracks for the little ones and my RMT Beep will be pulling a freight on the outer track. The movie schedule, prices and other information on the theater can be found here
