Peter Riddle's Magic Railroad

I'm looking for a track plan for Peter Riddle's Magic railroad as descried in his book, Tips and Tricks for Toy Train Operators, published by CTT.

In the book there is just a schematic. 

Has anyone built this layout?  What diameter curves did you use?  What grade is the "disappearing" portion of the layout?  What is the maximum length of train that can be used with out fouling?

This would be a fun layout to take to shows.  Any help you can give me is appreciated.
