Thank you. The telephone wire is exactly what I was was looking for. works very nicely
Use telephone wiring. it is four strand, same colors and if you open up the switch controller you will see that the lines are screwed in so you don't have to solder anything. very easy, cheap and simple to do.
Don't buy flat telephone wire. The round version is what you are looking for. Radio shack and home depot both have it...
Just extend the wires 1:1, you don't have to cut the wire, you can disconnect them from the switch and simply extend the wire.
I am working on my first permanent layout and have switches quite a distance from the control panel. I simply wish to lengthen the wire from the controller to the switch so I can mount the controller on my panel. I thought it would be a simple matter of splicing, but I am reluctant to cut the wire as there appear to be several small wires. Is there a simpler way? I just want to run my conventional engines and don't want to get involved in the new remote electronics. Appreciate any help. Thanks
