Source For Standard Gauge Figures?
Posted by wallyworld on Thursday, November 17, 2011 6:53 PM

The closest I can find is for Gauge One, which is more like G. I found some originals that are pricey @ $15.00 each. I am searching for seated figures. Any ideas?

I use Lemax and 54mm (toy soldier sized) figures.  But I'll use just about anything I can find as long as it "looks right".  But in both of those realms seated people can be difficult to find.  If you're any good at sculpting you could try oven bake clay.  Or, get one or two good figures and make molds off of them to cast your own carload in hydrocal.  Just a thought.

To all,

Seated figures are hard to find.  MTH's 1/32 people work well and so do Lionel's people for the plastic G Gauge.  K-Line made a blister pack of unpainted standard gauge people a long time ago.  Sometimes they show up on eBay, which is where I got mine.

Keep on training,

I saw some resin reproductions at York in the Orange hall but at $100 per dozen they are far too expensive to use to fill up a Repro Standard gauge State Set with passengers.  They were reproductions of the figures Lionel made for their trolleys.  I have some original figures for use with my Standard / Wide gauge trains but most are from Lemax

With the resurgence of Standard gauge I was surprised to find no plastic injection molded figures on the market. Thanks folks for all your helpful suggestions. I think I might shelve the idea of a Christmas layout in standard gauge..while Lemax might work, I just can't see myself justifying the cost for a reasonable amount of them to populate Christmas Town. I'll keep browsing if I come up with a source I will post it here.
