Hey folks,
I recently installed O42 Lionel switches on our O27 layout. I put them back to back, and when the cars go over the switch, it activates that nonderailing feature, throws the switch, and then derails the train. I have the insulating pins in the control rails, so I don't know what I did wrong, here. Any ideas? Thank you for your time.
Very common problem. Its like the switch is possessed. If you open one up you will see all the wires are white. On the few Lionel 42 switches I have I disabled the electrical parts of them and now they are manual switches.

Sounds like they were wired wrong, with the curved leg trigger section switched with the straight. They must be disassembled to be fixed.
