Lionel 6-38095 N&W 611, Dinning car, and Matching 4 pack Pawhatan

I just recently pick up the 2005 cataloged Lionel 3-38095 N&W 611, Dinning car and the 4 car Pawhatan set. This is such a wonderful set. I was a little reluctant purchasing this mainly because I'm a collector of PRR items and it was a private seller. The set came in its original boxes and during inspection found it to be in mint condition. There seems to be no wear at all. Boxes are even in mint like condition, plastic rap and ribbons are still present. Out the door purchase for all these Items was $1800 it was an exploding offer so I didn't have time to research prices. Can someone tell me if it sounds like this was a good deal or not. Just wondering. Jack

Jack, just don't know myself.  I would suggest doing a search on eBay to find out what such sets are selling for.  In the end, if it is as exciting to you as your post seems to indicate, I'd say it was worth the price you paid.  I personally try not to go back and check to see if I got a good deal...I would either end up trying to justify "well, mine is mint, that one is not", etc., or be disappointed.

Jack,

Here's Lionel's ad. for 6-38095:

http://www.lionel.com/Products/Finder/ProductDetail.cfm?ProductNumber=6-38095&expandBranch=&Keywords=&CategoryID=0&RailLineID=&CatalogId=

At $1,800.00, for the steamer engine, tender, four pass. cars and a diner car, it looks like you got the sound unit-diner free.

If, you notice, in the ad., there are two more cars, sold separately.
