 Penny Trains:

Hmmm...wonder how many tiny men it would take to carry that key around????  Laugh

Held up the peddler freight for the big hook. I got written up by the big boss. Another day on the road.

At least you didn't hold up the Varnish that the Commodore was wheeling around... you would have gotten even more "brownies" for that!  Whistling

Wallyworld, Thank you for posting the "Marx 333 and The Commodore Vanderbilt" video. Very entertaining. While watching I spotted your lost wind-up key. http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh79/webenda/LostKeyFound.jpg Best wishes on your cancer treatment and recovery.

Where's that *&%$# key? I just had the thing..Notice the blown over Marx Bubbling  Tower..The finicky bubble needs to be heated,,ah, Ill turn it on it's side..( minutes later..) Where'd the #$&! water tower go?

Neil Young said it best, : Rust never sleeps  Thanks for the encouragement on treatment. Back to the layout...Crew caller has notified the work detail. He says: Problem what problem.?

I did see it there and I enjoyed seeing it here. Thanks..That looks like a great clockwork layout, especially that very sharp looking Frisco..it is amazing what they can pull. The Hafner I have just doesn't seem to have the robust spring of the Marx. Another  favorite is the clockwork Rail Zeppelin that seems to run forever on a single wind..

I'm pretty sure that Wallyworld has seen this video - I posted it on the Marx Group - but I thought I would post it here as a show of support for my fellow Marx enthusiast!  Here are a couple of clockwork CV's and a Mercury rolling around my little layout that's under construction:

Keep those Marx engines rolling!

I love seeing a CV roll along at high speed!  It isn't too fast unless it turns over in the curve.  The headlight looks great.  Thanks for sharing the video!

Loved the video.  Toy trains are meant to go fast.

WOW, very cool, all that is missing is a Lincoln Log Fort to crash through.

If I had blocks Id use them. I should have thought of that instead of cutting a ribbon with the restored CV's first run. Now, that would be cool...You know, you gave me an idea..a video entitled "the Invincible and Indestructible Mad Marx.. " Big Smile

Looks great and you keep the idea we had as kids alive full speed or stop only to speeds you need to know when running trains Laugh

Thanks..when I go into Marx after my retirement, I never realized how relaxing and fun it is to not approach anything resembling an attempt at realism in toy trains. After a few minutes, I have forgotten what age I am, and that is quite an achievement. I suppose we are never too old to be a kid again. I just found out the day before I have cancer ( that is treatable, they say) and when running the trains, I could care less.

For the Marxist minority..and other tinplate folks..This first run shows the new fangled LED headlight which I think I am going to retrofit into other engines as they come due for replacement. The Marx 333 pulls a fast freight on a parallel track. Of course both consists move at warp speed.
