Why is this thread locked with no replies?

Don't know but you can get a set of jeweler picks real cheap at Harbor Freight that are great for cleaning out stuff in tight places. Get a set of 5 for around $4.00 and they are great for changing the rubber tires on locos also.

I would be curious to know why it was locked as well. There had not even been a single reply, no offensive language or comments, just a bit of poor spelling, which has NEVER been a concern here in the past.

Sometimes, posters accidentally lock their own threads by tick-marking the little box on the lower left side "Do not allow replies".

It is not always the mods ... Whistling

Good point, I didn't take notice that users had that capability.  Not sure why it's offered now that you mention it.

Some threads run for a certain time like the coffee pot and when it gets to that point and were starting a new one the last poster will at times click that in hopes of stopping anymore post and hoping others will post on the new thread

Most forums have the mods do that.  I've moderated a bunch of forums, never had users with the ability to lock threads.

If the original poster locks the first post before any replies have been made the thread is effectively locked. If however an unlocked reply has been made BEFORE the first post was locked other posters can put their replies on the unlocked reply.
