Question about Flyer streamline passenger cars
Posted by stebbycentral on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 10:35 PM

How long are American Flyer's classic streamliner passenger cars?  In actual inches.

I'm putting together a passenger train, the equipment I currently have is American Model S-Scale, it works out to about 15 inches in length.  I have an opportunity to pick up an original AF coach, but have no idea what size it is.  I am afraid If I intermix original AF equipment with the cars I now have and the AF equipment is substantially shorter that it's going to look out-of-place.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Stebby - Do you have any idea which ones you might want to get? They come in different lenghts. Example, the Burlington Zephyr has coaches in 9 1/2 inches while the observation is 10 1/2 inches. And the Union Pacific is 12 to 14 inches long. We probably need a bit more information.

Specifically I'm looking at UP coach #24838.  If it were in fact 12 inches, that would work for me.

Since I don't have one I'm not really sure but I believe it to be about 12 1/2" long.

Anyone else?

Clsoe, I asked the seller and he said 12 and 3/4.

Did you win it? Or when does it go off?
