Thank you Rob; those links were helpful.
Let me add to Mike Spanier's info regarding operating issues - Super O will not run Pre War tinplate - the track profile is too low for the large wheel flanges. This is why we only briefly dabbled in it.
But I still think it can make a good carpet layout under the tree. I imagine it should be possible to find some at York.

Hello all.
I've been away from the forum for a while..(the trains haven't turned a wheel)...and I forgot the specs for Super O...
What is the diameter for a circle, and please tell me if the spec is for center rail to center rail, or overall (outside tie, ore outside rail).
I'vew been thinking about a Christmas setup under the tree, and I thought Super O may be an inexpensive way to go, since the track locks together, eliminating the need for a mounting surface, etc; and I'm assuming it's cheaper that Lionel real-track or whatever it's called (six months off the forum and i forget the trade names already).
And I aready have some Super O (but I haven't yet located it).
I also know this track specs topic has been covered extensively before, but I have never figured out how to search the forum archives with any success. Help in this regard would also be very helpful.
Thanks in advance to all for any help.
