Another switch wiring question.
Posted by KRM on Friday, October 7, 2011 10:53 AM

Before I go outside to do my daily leaf burning I thought

I would get ready to mock up how to wire my switches.

In order to reduce the amount of wires in the console I would like to use a common ground to the center pole of my SPDT switches I am using for the remote switch operation. This would eliminate the wire running from the ground lug on the switch to the switch controller. By the time I am done with the 25 different switches in the console I will have a lot of wires in there.

I have ten switches and thought if I could wire the center pole right off of the ground post of the transformer I could eliminate ten wires running all the way to the switches on the table to get the same ground.

I have tried it with one switch and it seems to work fine but will it be okay to do this with all ten? Will it cause any problems I am not considering?

The switches are all new 027 42R 6-65168 & 67s

See picture below it shows my jumper wires between the switche's center post that would hook with one wire to the transformer ground terminal.

Thanks,

Kevin

There's no problem with doing it that way.

Thank you Bob.

Great!

I did not think so but wanted to ask just to be sure.

Thanks again,

 Kevin
