David,
Thank you, for this good news.
Take Care,
Ralph
I have the Williams by Bachmann BL-2 C&O pulling the Williams C&O streamline passenger cars on my layout at the VAMC in Chillicothe. It is an excellent engine, it pulls very well and the Williams passenger cars are of a good enough weight there has never been a derail.
To all,
What, I meant to say in my last post, of my two engines is, I have a Williams E-L FA-1 and a W/B ConRail NW-2.
I'd like to get the W/B C&O BL-2.
Thank you fifedog,
Both WESTERN MARYLAND BL2s are still around. One is at the B&O RR Museum. The other is still running in tourist service out in Elkins, WV.
Thank you 8ntruck, for your reply.
I have one in the Mo-Pac colors. It is a good puller, runs well, interesting shape. Runs with the usual 'Willams viggor' - seems that the starting voltage is lower than the typical Lionel locomotive.
The headlight is weak. I'll replace it with a LED one of these days.
You will enjoy it, if you treat yourself to one.
Kevin and Neal,
Thank you both for your information.
I saw them advertised on the back cover of CTT Magazine-Nov. 2011, then I did a quick check and found out that all of the roads shown, in real life prototype, actually had BL-2's.
Being, I have some C&O goodies, I'd like to buy the C&O BL-2.
I already have two: one-Williams and one-W/B, they are great engines and are full 1:48 scale sizes.
Kevin,
First off, I must compliment you on your Avatar, weather radio, movies, or T.V., Clayton Moore was the LONE RANGER!!!!!!
I have two Williams engines that I love and they're very similar in construction and power to Lionel Post War engines, only they're full 1:48 scale.
I wanted to know if the Williams/Bachmann BL-2 engines are available and I thank you for the link with the BL-2 and at reasonable prices.
I don't know if you are asking about the quality or if the engine is actually available. A lot of people don't like Williams but personnally I think they are good locomotives. I have several and they are strong pullers. You can't go wrong for the price either www.wholesaletrains.com has them with free shipping. You wont find cheaper prices anywhere.
Kevin
Can't stop working on the railroad!
Hi Ralph,
I've had one of the WBB BL-2s for about a year - It looks and run great.
Neal
Anyone, know anything about these engines advertised on the rear cover of C.T.T. Magazine-Nov. '11?
I did a quick search and the roads advertised actually had BL-2 diesel engines.
Please, advise.
